Procedure for obtaining a German passport

01

Data analysis

The first stage involves a legal analysis of your situation: how many years you have lived in Germany, whether you have permanent status, what grounds may be suitable - long-term legal residence, marriage, ancestry. A specialist checks your compliance with the new legal requirements that come into force in 2024 and sets up a route to citizenship.

02

Compilation of the dossier

After the grounds have been determined, the processing begins. The package includes proof of integration, language proficiency, financial stability and absence of criminal record. Particular attention is paid to documents on the legality of residence and completion of integration courses. All materials are translated, certified and thoroughly checked before submission.

03

Filing an application with the foreigners' authority

The documents are submitted to the Ausländerbehörde at the place of residence or online. The application is registered and the official processing begins. In some cases, an interview will take place and additional information or clarifications may be requested.

04

Receipt of the confirmation of German citizenship

If the decision is positive, the applicant is invited to a naturalisation ceremony. Here he or she swears an oath of allegiance to Germany and receives an official document confirming the new status. Without this procedure, the application is considered incomplete.

05

Issuance of internal documents

After the ceremony, a German passport and identity card (Personalausweis) can be issued. A tax number and access to the statutory health insurance system are also provided. From this moment on, the person receives all the rights of a German and EU citizen.
